Holly's Journal 3 + 4 months:
Week 8
Holly has found her thumb. A fantastic self service thumb that is available to her at all times to suck on. Things are going well!
She also likes her bottle that she now gets fed at least once a day, slowly preparing her for complete cold turkey from the breast.
Week 9
Holly is doing well and the smiles are coming thick and fast.
These are being accompanied more and more by gurgling noises and little laughs.
This of course pleases mummy and daddy greatly.
Wednesday however was doomsday as it was time for Holly's first injections. True to style Holly went through it all without a single whimper, although she had an injection in both legs and some drops orally against Polio. Mama did a fantastic job as Papa would not have loved to see his daughter stabbed twice.
Holly also got weighed again and came in at 10 Pounds 9 Ounces. A steady gain of 12 Ounces over two weeks.
Extra pictures for week 9 are on Pictures 6.
The web cam is still inoperative but we will keep everyone updated.
Week 12
Holly is still doing fine. She went through the Christmas period with wide eyes of astonishment, a few gurgles and lots of laughs.
In this period she has started more and more to focus on things. Little dolls and puppets certainly have her attention and she is always willing to have a chat with Andy Pandy (thanks grandma) or her big pink teddy bear (thanks uncle Henk)
She is also starting to grab for things and not as much cuddle but more try and eat or lick them to death.
Certainly her tongue and hands are her big pleasures in life.
The web cam is also installed and works a treat with good visual and sound (thanks Oma). We will try and get some sort of schedule together to make sure we are online at certain dates.
I will also try and get it to put some snapshots as the day passes on one of the websites.
When you follow the link you will get to a stage where you will be asked for the password. Send us an email if we have not already given it to you.
3 Months, 13 weeks
Holly has been for her 2nd instalment of shots. Again she behaved very well and only seemed to have
grizzled on the first injection.
The days following she was a little less hungry then normal but that picked up quickly again.
She still sleeps nicely from 11 in the evening until 7 the following morning. Total Bliss
She weighed in at 12 pounds, that is a healthy 5.5 Kg for our continental people. Next week, the 23 January, Holly will make her first trip to Holland to visit the remainder of the grandparents. We will fly, so that will be again an experience.
Due to all sort of circumstances we have not been taking many pictures for the web site. We hope to have all sorted out again soon and keep updating Hollyzijderveld2 with new
pickies.
