Month 1 + 2:
Holly zijderveld
Born 8 October 2002
Day 1:
Holly was born at 3.10 AM accompanied by the music of Toploader with their hit "Time of my life" which was played by the local radio station Mix96
Mother was already calling her parents to notify them of the birth 1 hour after!
At 6PM that evening Holly arrived home weighing in at 6 pounds and 3 ounces
Week 1
Holly got weighed again and after a lot of worrying she came in at 7.2 a healthy gain, fantastic!
She is quite and sleeps a lot
Week 2
Again the highlight of the week would have her weighed is everything going all right? Is she eating enough? is she sleeping enough?
The midwife declares our bebby healthy and very happy. She weighs 7.13 she gained 11 ounces in a week.
On average Babies gain 7 to 8 pounds a week.
Week 3
She is developing a pattern called "I am Hungry, feed me now!". She will let you know that she does want food in no uncertain terms.
She weighs now 8.6 and this is now done by the Health visitor
Week 4
Baby Holly start to give a way little smiles non relevant to any potty related actions, and melts our hearts.
Tiring as she is, the days go on. another weighing brings Holly up to 9 pounds and 8 ounces. All the hard work is rewarded. A whole pound and 2 ounces gained in just a week!! Are we breeding a pot belly Pig?
According to the stats she is now almost exactly on the 50 percentile, which means she is dead on average. Healthy as ever she is our joy
Week 5
Her smiles and recognition of her parents is a fact. The pictures to proof it have been round the family, both in the Netherlands as well as in England.
Yet another weighing brings more surprises:
Friday:
A web cam is on its way from Holland to be able to see Holly live. We will keep everyone informed.
Saturday we will go up north and visit grandma. Her first big trip. We will keep you informed how Holly survived 4 hours in the car.
Week 6
Holly's trip to Mablethorp was a success. The movement of the car would have he sleep most of the way. It is good preparation for future trips to The Netherlands in any case.
Holly has had her 6 week check up with the doctor who listened to her heart, lungs, checked her eyes and hearing and hip movements.
All is fine and Holly is in excellent health.
She has as yet not been weighed again but I feel that she is gaining steadily
Week 7
Due to technical circumstances, Papa has not been able to update the site.
Finaly today he has been able to get things working again, and my new pictures are added to the site on page 5. He also added some pictures of last weekends sea side adventure.
Next week it will be time for Holly's first Jabs. Especially mummy is looking forward to this! (Not!)
Holly is starting to take the bottle now, after we adjusted the teats on the bottles.
Holly is still a very sweet girl, hardly cries but is sure hungry a lot.
Holly also learned how to cough for her self and started wearing dresses this week.
We will let you know how the injections went, and will keep you updated on her weight.
The web cam is here, but papa or the computer is having difficulties installing it on the computer.
